Mother's Day Weekend

On Saturday, we went to Mountain Run Farm for their Spring Field Day. Caitlyn loved looking around at all of the new faces and the farm animals. Keith enjoyed some oatmeal and a sausage biscuit; I had a cup of organic coffee with raw cream and sweetened with brown sugar. I'd never had brown sugar in coffee before...it had an interesting taste! The sausage was delicious!

We walked around the farm. Caitlyn's favorite animals were the chicks. She peered into the house where they were and would laugh. They were pretty cute!

A picture of us looking at the guinea hens in a pasture:

Then we went to another pasture where the farmer was giving a talk about the cattle on the farm and some of the farming methods used. It was a beautiful day and Caitlyn decided to have a little picnic:

(I have no idea why I look so huge in that picture. Ugh!)

One of the cows we saw munching on some yummy grass:

On Sunday morning, Caitlyn woke me up bright and early for Mother's Day (6:30!) I guess she was excited about giving me my gifts and spending the day with her mommy.

We knew that she would be cranky by the time church would start so we decided to just make it a "family" day. (A shame since I actually ironed her dress the night before. Oh, well. There's always next Sunday!) I looked at my gifts (devotional book from Caitlyn, board game from the cats, and a DVD from Keith). We then went to Panera Bread and had breakfast. I had a yummy bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich (real eggs...none of that "just add water" stuff from McDonalds!) and a giant cinnamon roll. I thought that Keith was going to have to split it with me but I only left him about 4 bites. Breastfeeding does crazy things to your appetite!

After breakfast, we came back home and Caitlyn grabbed a cat nap (all that she manages these days). When she woke up, she and Keith did a CVS run for the weekly deals while I relaxed and enjoyed my break. We had a great time spending the rest of the day together and ended it with a trip to Cold Stone Creamery for some ice cream.

I had a wonderful 1st Mother's Day. Thank you, Keith, Caitlyn, Gracie, Leo, and Chloe! I love you :)
