O Christmas Tree...

Last Friday (the 11th), we went to a tree farm to pick out Caitlyn's first tree! The farm is in the mountains, right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. It's a gorgeous drive. Caitlyn especially enjoyed it.

It was COLD that day--in the 20's!--so we had to really bundle up. That's not easy to do with a baby! After trekking around the hillside, we found The One.

Time for Daddy to saw it down!

Views from the hillside...beautiful area!

I think we made a good choice!

Five Months Old!

Caitlyn's new "thing" is acting excited when she sees one of us or sees something she wants (usually the remote or the phone). She'll do this funny panting sound. It's really hilarious. She loves seeing the lights on the Christmas tree. We are so excited about her first Christmas!!! I'll post some pictures of the trip to the tree farm along with some pictures from Christmas Day on Friday night/Saturday morning.

Four Months Old! (A month ago...)

I'm sorry it's been so long since this blog has been updated. The past few weeks have been very, very busy. Caitlyn keeps me going all day long (with almost no breaks!) and, when she goes to sleep, then it's time for all of the things I don't get done during the day. Hopefully I'll have more blogging time soon! :)

Pumpkin Patch Visit

We went to the pumpkin patch a few days before Halloween to pick out CC's first pumpkin! She had a great time and we found the perfect one for a Jack O' Lantern.

Road Trip!

My sweet husband suggested that I spend last week with my family...so we did! It was a nice break and felt so good to be "home" in GA again. Several of "Nana's" friends and some other family members were able to meet Caitlyn. We had a nice, relaxing time and Caitlyn received plenty of attention. My mom said last night on the phone that her house was too quiet after we left.

Caitlyn traveled pretty well. There were a couple of times of crying because she was tired of the carseat but, overall, she did great. We'd stop every couple of hours for a feeding and change. Then she'd fall asleep for about an hour or two while we drove. On our way back home, I figured out that she loves for me to read to her in the van. So we'll pack a ton of books next month!

We're looking forward to going back to GA for Thanksgiving! Caitlyn will spend some more time with Nana & Papa, get to meet--and be passed around--a houseful of relatives, spend some time with Grandmama & Grandaddy, and get to meet her Nonee (great-grandmother) for the first time. It should be a fun trip.

Three Months Old!

Caitlyn is changing soooo much! She can now hold toys in her hands (and put them in her mouth!). She is drooling everywhere and knaws her hands a lot so we think that she might be teething...already! She coos and squeals and loves talking to whoever will listen!

Blog Redecorating!

Since it's October, it's time for a new theme! Caitlyn's first Halloween will be here before we know it. She's going to be adorable in her costume (if she's not screaming because she hates it!).

September News & Photos

I think we are past the gassy/colicky stage! YAY! We still have the occasional crying spell but, overall, Caitlyn is a much calmer, happier baby. She is still rather strong-willed and gets irritable at times but I chalk that up to genetics, not swallowing air. :)

Caitlyn spends a lot of time "talking" to us now. It's so cute. We have tried in vain to get it on video but we'll keep trying! She likes to "talk" to her daddy when he gets home from work. Of course, she has his undivided attention. ;)

Just a few pictures from September...

We're easing into cloth diapering and this is one of them. Cute, huh? :)

Two Month Well Baby Visit

We took Caitlyn to the pediatrician this morning. Keith surprised me by going with us. He knew that I was nervous about this visit since they would give Caitlyn her first vaccinations.

She's grown a lot! She was 11 lbs. 7 oz. and 23" long. Of course, she peed on the scale. :)

She did wail a bit when the shots were given but, overall, she was OK. I can tell that she's not feeling well this afternoon so I gave her a little Tylenol (she has a low-grade fever). She's sleeping right now.

No more shots for 2 months!

Apple Picking Time!

We went to the mountains this morning and picked some apples. It was so much fun. Caitlyn loves being snuggled up to Mommy in her sling. After picking some, Caitlyn had lunch and then we were able to have lunch. Just as we walked in the door, Keith was called into work...so we are glad that we had some family time this morning!
